Can a machine tell where you're from just by listening to you speak? Visitors at a new exhibition in Changsha, Hunan Province, are finding out — they talk into a microphone in their own dialect, and the system identifies their hometown.

机器能靠“听”判断你是哪里人吗？湖南长沙一个新展馆里，游客可以体验对着麦克风说方言，系统立马就能识别出你的家乡。
On August 24, the Exhibition Hall of the Project for the Protection of Language Resources of China officially opened at the Hunan Museum in Changsha. It brings together records of more than 1,800 Chinese dialects, minority languages and cultural expressions — a national database turned into a living, immersive experience.

8月24日，中国语言资源保护工程成果展示馆在湖南省博物馆正式开馆。展馆汇聚了全国1800多个方言、少数民族语言与文化表达点位，把国家级数据库变成了可看、可听、可互动的活态展览。
